Learning About Green Building From Garbage

Whether you have some old newspaper or a pile of used tires, there is a building application for just about any piece of garbage you might have. And there are people around the world who are taking advantage of this phenomenon to create entire homes for pennies on the dollar. Of particular interest is scrap metal, which has been employed to great success recently as a means with which to build an entire home, the windows were of course made from recycled glass. Homes like this cost next to nothing compared to those which utilize fresh lumber and insulation that can cost up to 10 times more than a similar recycled home.

In warmer climates it is not advisable to utilize metal in the overall production of a home due to the heat retention. So, in warmer climates heat dispersal compounds such as rubber are used (typically from tires) in conjunction with mud to an astonishing effect. Recycled carpeting adorns the floors, and of course there is always plenty of used furniture or recycled wood available to create an amazing piece of art from time to time. This all makes for a pretty amazing chance that many pass up when it comes to building a new home!
